Seillans and the surrounding area has a very active cultural and sporting community year round, with all sorts of events, fetes, markets, exhibitions and celebrations regularly taking place, but here are a few examples of annual events further afield which are within an hour's drive:
Known as black gold and hailed as the ‘diamond of the kitchen’, truffles are a highly prized ingredient – and one that demands an equally high price tag. This area of Provence is a prime hunting ground and come truffle season, between December and February, the region comes alive with fairs, festivals and markets dedicated solely to the black pearl. There are daily markets taking place across the region too.

Nice Carnival: One of the biggest in the world, Nice Carnival is a true spectacle. Expect huge floats, a riot of colour, dazzling figurines, theatrical productions, “flower battles”, music, dancing, and a diverse range of entertainment both day and night.
Monte Carlo Rolex Tennis Masters
The Salon du Bateau d’Occasion is nearly 20 years old and held at the beginning of April at Mandelieu-La Napoule. It’s the largest European 2nd hand motor boat show.

The Cannes Film Festival lures industry luminaries and gong-hopeful A-listers to town, for premieres, parties and paparazzi.
It’s followed by the famous F1 Monaco Grand Prix.
St Tropez - La Bravade de Saint Tropez - Traditional Provençal festival of St Tropez for over 440 years.

Seillans - The famous annual Musique-Cordiale 'Festival Musiques en Liberté', a fortnight when the church, the village hall and outdoor venues resound to a variety of high quality classical, choral and jazz music from international artists each August, when the area is at its most popular with visitors.
Grasse - Fete de Jasmin - The famous Jasmin Flower Festival in the City of Perfume.
Menton Music Festival runs for the first two weeks of August. There are master classes, concerts with artistes from all over the world – a veritable feast for music lovers.
Les Etoiles de Mougins brings chefs from across the Continent to the mediaeval village for demonstrations, tastings and general gastro celebrations.
